What could be more quintessential English that a Steak & Kidney Pudding, but a decent one is really difficult to get hold of unless you knuckle down and make your own. It's a long process though and if you're anything like us it's really difficult to get inspired enough to carefully stand over a steamer making sure it doesn't boil dry for three or so hours.
Fear not though, we've taken all the hard work out of enjoying this delicious delicacy so you can enjoy one in as little as 10 minutes! Made to a really old recipe that we stumbled across in an old butchery book, it's a well seasoned peppery filling made using select cuts of steak combined with onions, beef stock and of course kidney before being filled into a good old fashioned suet pudding case. Once assembled the puddings are carefully steamed for three and a half hours so that everything is cooked to perfection.
They're the perfect size for 2 people, simply cut in half to serve, although if your really hungry you could always tackle one yourself......we won't judge! Great served with some mash or chips, something green and a jug of delicious gravy.
