Tewkesbury mustard is a blend of mustard flour and grated horseradish root. It was originally developed in the English town of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, and gained a certain reputation in the 17th century for being the finest mustand in the land.
Shakespeare even mentioned the mustard in Henry IV, Part 2, in a line describing a character “his wit's as thick as Tewkesbury Mustard”
The combination of mustard and horseradish is an amazing one though and we love to enjoy this with roast beef, or in a beef roll as well as other cooked meats.
